About this
Ayyanakere fills after the monsoon and by November the shallows on the eastern side are full of birds: bar-headed geese and garganey some years, pintail, shoveler and spot-billed duck every year, painted storks and pelicans working the edges, and raptors over the scrub behind. The bund gives a clear line of sight over the whole tank with the Baba Budangiri range behind it. Two to three hours from first light, a scope provided, tea afterwards in Sakkarayapatna.

Guide recommended. You may go alone, but a guide is the sensible choice here. The bund is open to anyone, but winter ducks and waders are hard work without somebody who knows them.
No guide on MaladTrip has listed this one yet, so it cannot be booked here. You can still do it on your own — the details above are what you need. We have described it anyway: it is worth doing, and we would rather tell you it exists than pretend it does not.
