About this

Chikkamagaluru coffee is grown under a canopy of native trees rather than in the open, and the walk is as much about that forest as about the coffee: pepper vines on the silver oaks, cardamom in the wet gullies, the birds that the shade brings in. The planter or manager explains the year — blossom, cherry, harvest, drying — and then you sit down to cup the estate's own washed and natural lots against each other. Year-round; the estate looks different every season.

Guide required. You cannot do this one on your own. A working estate is private land; the planter or manager walks you round it.

No guide on MaladTrip has listed this one yet, so it cannot be booked here. Since this one cannot be done without a guide, arrange one locally before you set out. We have described it anyway: it is worth doing, and we would rather tell you it exists than pretend it does not.
