About this

From the Deviramma temple at Mallenahalli the path goes up through estate and then open grass and does not really level until the shrine at the top — three to four hours up, about two down. What you get for it is the Chandra Drona range seen from across the valley, Mullayanagiri and Baba Budangiri in one frame, and on a clear day the town far below. Take more water than you think you need; there is none on the hill. The hilltop temple opens only on Naraka Chaturdashi, the first day of Deepavali, when several thousand pilgrims climb it in the dark — go then for the festival, any other day for the hill to yourself.

Guide optional. Go with a guide or go on your own — entirely your call. One path, well worn, impossible to lose. Go alone if you would rather.

No guide on MaladTrip has listed this one yet, so it cannot be booked here. You can still do it on your own — the details above are what you need. We have described it anyway: it is worth doing, and we would rather tell you it exists than pretend it does not.
