About this
About four kilometres from the Byrapura trailhead: estate roads first, then open hillside, then a rock ledge that needs hands as well as feet for a few metres. The summit is a shelf of stone with a sheer drop westward and the whole Charmadi escarpment laid out to the south. Two to three hours up, less down. Nothing technical, but the exposure at the top is real, and there is no shade on the hill after nine. Book the Forest Department permit online beforehand (about ₹250–300 a head); entry is 6 AM to 3 PM.
Where it starts
Byrapura, near the Shishila road

Guide optional. Go with a guide or go on your own — entirely your call. The Byrapura route may be walked without one; from Shishila a guide is compulsory. Either way the permit is booked in advance.
No guide on MaladTrip has listed this one yet, so it cannot be booked here. You can still do it on your own — the details above are what you need. We have described it anyway: it is worth doing, and we would rather tell you it exists than pretend it does not.
