About this
The track is the reason this is a jeep trip and not a drive: rutted, steep and in the monsoon a stream. A local driver takes you up in the late afternoon (about ₹2,000 a jeep for up to eight, plus ₹50 a head at the forest check-post), the last stretch on foot, to a ridge with nothing on it but grass and wind. West is the whole Kudremukh range, east the Bhadra valley filling with shadow. In the monsoon the cloud comes over the ridge at head height. Back in Kalasa in time for dinner.

Guide recommended. You may go alone, but a guide is the sensible choice here. The track needs a local driver in anything but the driest months. Whether they also guide you is up to you.
No guide on MaladTrip has listed this one yet, so it cannot be booked here. You can still do it on your own — the details above are what you need. We have described it anyway: it is worth doing, and we would rather tell you it exists than pretend it does not.
