You need a permit. Safaris are booked at tickets.bhadratigerreserve.in — jeep ₹600 per adult, ₹250 per child under 12, six visitors to a jeep; morning 6–9 AM and evening 3–6 PM, all year. Quota fills early in season and at weekends.

A Project Tiger reserve of about 492 sq km around the Bhadra reservoir. Tiger, leopard, elephant, gaur, sloth bear and over 250 bird species. Jeep safaris run from the Muthodi range gate with Forest Department naturalists.
